Night Heron — 1961 Geerd Hendel / Bigelow Brothers Marconi Cutter

Night Heron has benefited from the focused attention of an experienced owner, and she has been well maintained by knowledgeable professionals. She’s had her annual regimen for 2026 (topsides and bottom paint, on-deck paint and brightwork, spar varnish, engine fluids and filters, etc.) and is truly in sail-away condition. She carries enough character and detail to let you know that she’s a special boat, but not so much that she becomes an owner’s life’s work. From a spacious self-bailing cockpit, you head below to a comfortable full berth to starboard and galley to port. Engine room with large opening is on centerline aft of companionway ladder. There’s also a large access hatch in the cockpit sole that gives great access to engine, transmission, battery bank, and other service points. ‘Midship is a pair of settees that double as berths with a drop-leaf table on centerline. A solid-fuel cabin heater is mounted on the bulkhead to port that will help to extend your season on both ends. Passage to the forepeak is to starboard. There you’ll find a single berth to starboard and head to port with anchor and rode storage forward of that. There is much secure stowage aboard, and great access to all systems service points throughout the vessel. Night Heron was well thought out on Mr. Hendel’s drafting table, well built, and has been well maintained by her owners over the years. She’ll continue to bring much pleasure to her next owner.
